Kite Festival Redcliffe

The colour, fun and excitement of KiteFest is returning again this year with more entertainment and kites of all shapes and sizes to fill the sky on the weekend of 29th and 30th of August 2015.

The Redcliffe KiteFest features a program bursting with fun activities and entertainment for both young and old making it the perfect day out for any family. The program includes:

In The Sky

The main attraction at the Redcliffe KiteFest has to be the beautiful kites that fill the sky. This year the world’s best kite flyers will be flying their creations over Redcliffe . Kites flyers from Canada, the US, New Zealand and Australia will amaze the crowds with their stunts and majestic kites, which will include some of the world’s biggest kites. In addition to the kites, the sky will also play host to the Yak-52 aerobatic Displays at 10.30am and 2pm daily.

KiteFest Kidz

KiteFest Kidz is an area just for Brisbane Kids featuring free and low cost activities. In KiteFest Kidz, kids can play music in the TeePee Music Village, pat the animals at the White Ridge Animal Farm, jump on the free jumping castle, get creative in the art and craft workshops and have fun with Joyology Joy Arts which is a free activity featuring singing, dancing, a rainbow parachute, body painting and lots more. The area also offers market stalls which are all about kids including kids toys, clothes, furniture and accessories. Conveniently KiteFest Kidz also has a Bubz Hub which is a chill out zone for littlies and their parents including baby feeding and changing areas, bottle heating, books, toys and cushions.

KiteFest Main Stage

The KiteFest Main stage brings together a showcase of the best artists from around South East Queensland. This year the main stage will feature the Jukebox Heroes, The Walters, Hailey Calvert and Faleepo Francisco who will have everyone up and dancing. A highlight for all Brisbane Kids will be Spongebob Squarepants who will be on the main stage at 11am and 1pm daily in his very own live stage show ‘Stories from the Bikini Bottom’.

Water Shows

As KiteFest takes place on the gorgeous Moreton Bay foreshore, the water will become a stage with a program of on-water based activities. This year for the first time ever at KiteFest, the Stars Down Under Water Ski Show will perform thrilling routines including barefoot skiing, wakeboarding, pyramids, acrobatics and stunt skiing in a 50 minute show that is not to be missed. There will also be kite surfing demonstrations daily.

KiteFest Karnival

KiteFest Karnival is always an exciting place to be at KiteFest and features rides for young and old. This year’s rides include the Super Sizzler, Two Up G-Force, Super Satellite, Tarantula, Zorb Balls, Mini Ferris Wheel, Pirate Train, Merry-Go-Round, Space Shuttles, Mini Bike Ride, Kids Zone Swinger, El Toro Loco Mechanical Bull, Tiki Island Inflatable Activity Centre and the Double Screamer Slide. Tickets must be purchased for the rides and are $5 each or an all day ride pass costs $25.

KiteFest Food, Drinks and Markets

KiteFest boast an amazing food court featuring everything from delicious snacks and coffee to gourmet food stalls. There are also hundreds of market stalls for the whole family to wander through.

• Family Pass $20 (2 adults and 2 kids OR 1 adult and 3 kids)
• Adults $8 (16 years and over)
• Concession $5 (valid concession/student card must be present at the gate)
• Child $5 (2-15 years)
• Child FREE (under 2 years)
• Single Ride Pass $5
• All Day Ride Pass $25 (not available after 2pm)
